String...string and more string!!!!

If you look at my layouts the things you see in every layout is either string or stitches...I would say I'm seriously obsessed. Amanda Carlson just came out with these new strings and they are fantastic...check them out!!!! (image is linked)

Another speed scrap...

I think I should start posting about these before they happen but I did another speed scrap at Scrapmatters last night. I love how different everybody's layouts turn out and it's great fun. I really liked my layout...here were the instructions that were given to us and then the layout I came up with.

#1 - Pick one picture only and it has to take up at least 1/3 of your page

#2 - Use as many papers are you want - but the back ground paper needs to be solid

#3 - Now choose at least one frame - I want you to frame your picture, but (here's the catch) not the entire picture.

#4 - Attatch the frame to the picture of paper with two different methods - i.e. stitches, staples, buttons, hinges, etc

#5 - Now add flowers and something else found in nature

#6 - I am sure I will hear a lot of complaining about this one - but here we go anyway. Next find some word art for your title. It has to work alone to explain your picture because for this one I don't want to see any journaling. You can use premade word art or something you do by yourself.

#7 - Now date your LO and embellish to your hearts content.

Speed Scrap

have you ever done one? I participated in my first one last night and I had a blast. You have two hours today and for the first hour you get instructions every 10 minutes. You have to base you layout on the instructions and then you have another hour to upload your layout in the gallery. This speed scrap was at Scrapmatters which is a new community I found which I love! The participation prize was awesome and I got another page done in Ben's baby book. You should come check it out. this is the layout I did last night...

I worked on some layouts this week...this is what I came up with.



And my absolute favorite so far...I worked hard to get this extraction perfect and I think I did a really good job. I'm so proud of myself...I've come a long way!

Travel book of Maine

I've been working on a book from our vacation to Maine from June 2007. Considering it's only a little over a year later I think I am doing fairly well. Here's a page I completed today. DH and I rarely get to go out for an ADULT only night out and don't have to drive so we took full advantage. We were staying in downtown Portland, ME and had a romantic dinner, a nice bottle of wine and then went and played pool. We had a blast... Image is clickable for credits.

So I'm up and running...

I finally figured out the blog thing. Whew! I'll be adding more stuff once I get the hang of it. I wanted to show you what is new in the store at Pixel Gypsy Designs.
