Choo Choo!!! Welcome to stop #38 on the Scrapmatters Birthday Blog Train. You should have just come from Krista's blog at
http://www.sahlink.blogspot.com
You have now stopped in Ashburn, VA only about 30 miles outside of beautiful Washington DC. You don't want to miss any stops on this blog train. All the brag book layouts made by the CT or designers is from this enormous kit the Scrapmatters Birthday Collab Kit "You Say It's Your Birthday". The kit is available for FREE with a $10.00 purchase during the birthday celebration.
Let's talk a little about birthday traditions. Everyone has something they do over and over again for birthdays. When I was younger, I always had a birthday party with my friends but as I grew older that didn't always happen but I could always count on my family to get together and celebrate even if it's just a couple of us for coffee and cake. And usually that cake is Ice cream cake!!! LOL! From where else but Carvel! It's a simple tradition but something I always look forward to. Even after having kids of my own, my parents have still celebrated my birthday with an ice cream cake. So to celebrate Scrapmatters birthday I unfortunately can't offer you an ice cream cake (unless you are coming to VA) but I can offer you my 5x7 brag book pages for you instead. You can download them here. Enjoy!!!
The train is leaving this stop and going to http://www.happyscrapgirldesigns.blogspot.com.

Announcement for Speed Scrap
I unfortunately won't be able to make this speed scrap since I have to work bright and early the next day. I think my husband probably thinks I am addicted to these since I am always participating. Here's my layout from the other evening's speed scrap hosted by Breeza.
and if you haven't tried any of the challenges over at Scrapmatters yet, what are you waiting for? This week's Saturday Special has you scrapping about your favorite season. Mine by far is Fall and one of the reasons....LOL....Pumpkin Spice Lattes. Here is my layout.
You can find the Saturday specials link here. Come on over and participate.

My SS layout and another SS announcements.
I always enjoy a great speed scrap and Lisa did a great job hosting last night. Here are the instructions and the layout I came up with. It's simple but I love it.
1. Choose three photos. No more, no less.
2. Chose two solid papers. Use one for the background, the other to mat your three photos. They can be three individual mats or one mat for all three, your choice.
3. Use something metal to attach your photos to the mat(ie: staples, brads, clips)
4. There must be a star somewhere on the LO.
5. Add a swirl somewhere.
6. Title, you must use word art. You can make the word art yourself!
7. Journal, date and post.
and now SM is doing two SS a week, one in the daytime and one in the evening so it's convenient for everyone. I can't make this daytime one but just in case you can...stop on by.

A couple new things...
First off...I'm so excited! Look!!!
I made the CT for the Scrapmatters Site! It was such a surprise...I didn't think I had enough talent to make it but I did! The next 6 months are going to be awesome and I can 't wait to get to know everyone better!
Second...Scrapmatters has a daily download, it'a a beautiful kit. Take a look at the previews...seriously gorgeous!!! All you have to do is head over to Scrapmatters every day and get the daily download. If you download all the days, then you have the whole kit. Easy Peasy right?
And thirdly, Sya's blueprints came out with calendar toppers for 2009. I will definitely be using these to make my calendar's this year. Check it out...image is linked
Have a great start of the weekend! It's rainy and dreary here so I'm sure I will creating a lot of layouts!
